F.A.Q.s
What’s it like working with you?
It’s important to me to make people feel comfortable and for us to laugh. I’m also a Virgo and former executive assistant, so you’ll have the power of extreme organization on your side whether it’s what you signed up for or not.
Pricing/how do I work with you?
The pricing depends on the scope of the project, so let’s talk about it! I can acclimate to most budgets, so if you share where you’d like to be, I can usually make it happen.
Do you offer a sliding scale?
Absolutely. For nonprofits and for coaching clients with limited disposable income.
What is your refund policy?
If I’ve delivered what I set out to deliver, then unfortunately I’m unable to offer a refund. However, if you aren’t satisfied with my work or if it doesn’t perform the way you hope, I always want to find a way to make it right. This can come in the form of pro bono tweaks or a full redo, and/or putting you in touch with someone who might be a better fit.
How much does it typically cost to make a video?
This is a tough one! Again, if you share your budget, then we can usually figure out a concept to fit that budget. But whether or not that’s achievable will depend on the concept for the video. If it involves multiple professional actors and multiple locations, that tends to run more costly both because of what the shoot days look like and the work that’s required before shooting. We can always find creative ways to keep costs down and still make a video just as compelling.
COACHING
How does coaching work?
Typically, we have a one-hour call each week, and I offer text and e-mail support in between. You’ll also come away from every session with at least one “homework” item, or something to try implementing. The level of engagement can be flexible depending on your budget.
What’s the difference between coaching and therapy?
The main difference between coaching and therapy is that coaching is more behavior-centric. Both coaching and therapy aim to dig into your unique challenges, which can often involve delving into your history and digging up some intense emotions. In therapy, the main focus is this part, and sometimes you’ll also get some recommendations for action to take between sessions. In coaching, we’ll spend way more time on the action part. We’ll come up with creative ideas for tools to try, talk about what’s working and what isn’t and why, and continually make tweaks. We’ll also do more planning far ahead than in therapy; we may even create milestones for up to a year from now.
What’s unique about the coaching you do?
When people ask about the focus of my coaching, I often say it’s time management. But that feels so clinical! And our sessions will be anything but clinical. I’m a heart-led person, and I believe that most of the roadblocks we face on a day to day basis, especially how we spend our time, can be remedied by digging into what’s going on emotionally. How we feel about ourselves, our lives, and the people in them determines how we spend our time.
My goal for my clients isn’t hyperproductivity; on the contrary, the number one thing I tell most of my clients is to be way easier on themselves. I want us all to feel like we have more time and space to do the things we love, and that starts with getting away from “grind” mentality.
I’m still not sure coaching is right for me. Can I try it out?
Absolutely! I offer a free 30-minute first session, which you can schedule here. You can also use this time to simply ask me questions about coaching to see if it’s right for you.
We share different identities or life experience. Can you recommend a coach who can better understand my experience?
Of course! It’s crucial that you feel fully understood by your coach. Let me know exactly what you’re looking for<mailto: vhcaitlin@gmail.com; subject: Coach recommendations?>, and please don’t hesitate to be direct.
